Ok, friends, I am buying T-shirts (1 or 2 of the following), and I need your opinion on which two are the best. Please vote for your favorite two in the poll on the side.
Thesaurus hands down! And "after a while" is my second choice. These choices I made before reading my mother's comment. But you see where I get my good taste. (:
I like the touch down one because I think it has a more subtle cultural humor that could be fun in a foreign environment. The only one I don't get is the bears, but then again I grew up in Florida . . .
I thought the bears thing was just silly at first, but I looked it up, and it's a recurring joke made by Stephen Colbert's comedy persona on the Colbert Report show. Funny satire show, and interesting guy. Learn more about it on wikipedia, and...here's a sample of one of this week's shows that nicely considers aspects of the idea of "being known," including the verse from 1 Corinthians, "now we see in a glass darkly.." and the current obsession with broadcasting our every move via facebook, twitter, etc. Satire is often irreverent...but I hope you all won't be offended.
Well--I woulda said the crocs and the touchdown...but they are all cute. I definitely would not have gotten the bear one, never having seen the appropriate satire.
gotta be the crocodiles :D

What can I say? I'm a writer. Thesaurus it is. The gator/croc one is cute, too, however.

ReplyDeleteGosh - you mean you decided before I cast my votes in solid favor of the clear underdogs? Hmm.

I haven't decided!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Thesaurus one. Not sure about the others. :)
